IMPROVE-SCA

ABOUT US

IMPROVE-SCA, aims to improve all aspects of care of individuals and families affected by sudden cardiac arrest. This includes diagnosis and causes of sudden death, ongoing management of family members and survivors and psychological support

This national approach aims to remove the inequity of care currently experienced by sudden cardiac arrest families, with current services being located in metropolitan centres, referral pathways often being confusing, with long wait times.

We hope to unite and upskill healthcare professionals around the country in the nuances of sudden cardiac arrest and leverage online platforms to address current inequities.

We have brought together a team of experts in various fields to improve care for individuals and families affected by sudden cardiac arrest.

Our IMPROVE-SCA team includes specialists in:

Clinical cardiology

Cardiac genetics and genetic counselling

Psychology

Cardiac rehabillitation

Research

Clinical Trials

General Practice

Health disparities and equity

Implementation science

Our Aims

1. Identify what is the current pathway for care of sudden cardiac arrest and what is needed

2. Create a virtual tool to help improve the diagnosis, management and support pathways

3. Measure if the created tool is feasible and effective
